NICU, day 7

First and foremost HAPPY ONE WEEK AVERY!!!
Today was an amazing day for us. Avery got all of her belly button lines out and she got her PICC line placed in her foot/leg. So now my sweet baby girl can sleep on her tummy! The nurse told us that sleeping on her tummy is her favorite thing, she LOVES it and really snuggles in. Today when we were walking up to her isolette it was like walking up to a completely different baby. She looks and acts so much more healthy than she even was last night. She has never looked or acted unhealthy but today was just different. She looks like she is putting on her baby fat, which i guess she is since she gained 1oz since yesterday. She is now 2lb 4.5oz!!!! She is also getting 2ml of breast milk every 6hrs and her regular few drops of it in between. I am doing everything i can to build and maintain my supply for my baby girl, i know she needs it. They have enough milk at the NICU to last a while so now i need to start freezing it here at home and they will call me when they start to get low so that we can bring some in with us.
Today was really a lot for Avery, and it involved a LOT of handling which her little body just isn't used to. They told us that they wanted to let her rest overnight because of all of the handling today and that we will get to hold her tomorrow!!!! I am beyond excited.
